Fuzz Ball Booties
Size: Infant shoe size 2
Materials:
1 skein Bernat Satin or any worsted weight yarn
1 skein Lion Brand Fun Fur or any fur/fuzzy yarn
US Size 8 dpn
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle
Puffy fabric paint (optional)
Gauge: 18 sts/24 rows=4 inches
Directions:
Using either straight needles or 2 dpn with point protectors on the end, cast on 10 stitches.
Row 1: sl 1, knit across
Row 2: sl 1, purl across
Repeat these 2 rows 11 times. Work row 1 once more. Piece should measure approximately 3.5 inches.
Transfer stitches to a dpn.
With another dpn and the right side of the work facing you, pick up and knit the 11 slipped stitches along the edge of the rectangle. With the third dpn, pick up and knit 10 sts along the top of the rectangle, pm, and pick up the remaining 11 slipped sts. 42 sts
Attach fur yarn and work in the round on these sts for 1 inch.
You will now be working back and forth on the front 10 sts in order to shape the toe.
Row 1: Slip the last stitch from the needle to the right onto the needle containing the toe sts. K2tog, knit across. Turn.
Row 2: Slip the last stitch from the needle to the right onto the needle containing the toe sts. P2tog, purl across.
Repeat 4 more times. 32 sts.
Work 2 rounds even. Break fur yarn.
Attach plain yarn. Work in k1p1 rib for 1 inch. Bind off in rib.
Weave in ends.
You can make these booties non-slip by painting a design on the bottoms with puffy fabric paint.
